A new introduction and a striking architectural plant that always gets a lot of comment when people visit our gardens. The purple-tinted foliage is complimented by beautiful airy, lavender-pink flower spikes. Full sun will ensure that the foliage retains its dark colour. Perfect for the garden or in a pot.
Likes a well-drained position. Will die back in winter to re-emerge in spring from a tight evergreen crown changing to the beautiful shiny serrated foliage as it develops which you can see in our photos. After flowering cut the plant back. It may self-sow but the best leaf colourings will be retained from splitting this plant in spring once it has established. Drought tolerant once established and is tolerant of poor soil. Loved by bees and butterflies
